Dan & Lauren's Engagement

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

I have known Dan and Lauren for a short while and it was an absolute honour to be asked to capture some photos to celebrate their engagement.

The couple have been together for just under 8 years, they met on a night out through a mutual friend and went on their first date just a week later.

They went on holiday to New York just before Christmas, on day 3 of their break they woke up to snow and decided it was a perfect day to walk through central park. They stumbled across a beautiful boating lake with moorings all around it. Lauren sat on one of the moorings and began to take pictures across the lake, Dan leant down in front of her and they were chatting about how beautiful the setting was. Dan then pulled a ring box from his pocket, opened it up, took Lauren's hand and asked her to Marry him. Lauren says they then walked around New York for the rest of the day with gigantic smiles on their faces.

On the day of the Engagement shoot I met Dan and Lauren at Brereton Heath Nature Reserve. It was chilly but the sun was shining so it was a perfect day for a few pictures.

Dan and Lauren both told me that they don't really like having their pictures taken, they were both naturals and we got the shots really quickly each time we stopped. We walked all the way round the beautiful lake whilst Dan and Lauren told me about the plans that are already underway for their wedding next year. There were some beautiful spots to get some pictures and we managed to get some by a tree that Dan remembers climbing when he was younger.

I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding next summer!
